Hello
Tomorrow is Herbste Messe, hurray! Herbste Messe, the All Souls Day (Halloween) celebration that BFA attends in Basel. Rides, food, and tons of other fun stuff.
Jonny G. was on tennis tournament this past weekend, where BFA won two and lost two games, leaving themselves in good standing. But now the had ended, and Volleyball tournament guys leave Wednesday for Italy. We hope they win again, just like last year. Basketball starts in a couple of weeks, and hopefully many of our guys will get on the team and contribute amazingly.
Sang Jin was creeked yesterday. Creeking is quite enjoyable this year, as the creek is nice and deep and cold. Kurt B. is next on the list to get dunked. Well, see ya!

The ground and roofs are lightly powdered white because
IT'S SNOWING!!!
(luckily, the snow poll was put up the morning of. But no one has won yet).
Definition of snow poll-a dorm tradition, where each person signs up for a specific date on which they think the driveway will be covered with snow, covered being staff choice. The winner then gets lots of sugar. Each person can have only one day, and each day can be taken only once. Closest to the date of covering wins if no one has selected that date.
Josh C. had his unbday yesterday. He ran rather far, leaving before the song and screaming and all. But it was fun creeking him, though slightly chilly for all involved. Brandon A. will be tonight. Well, see ya!

Hey all
Well, sorry for the gap in time.
The Juniors had a ton of fun in Normandy and Paris. They arrived back very tired, but full of great experiences. The following week they enjoyed senior privileges, which they enjoyed greatly. They can't wait till next year when they have them all year.
The seniors got back on Friday, tired and smelly. Some wanted to be back, some didn't. They showered, napped, shared some stories about their adventures in Italia, and got back into the groove of things. Kristoff had to depart for a tennis game at Vilseck within a few hours of returning, and he played as best as he could. On the weekend, everybody was glad to be back together and had a bunch of fun.
This past Wednesday, most of the school went to a soccer game in Basel between Switzerland and the US. Everybody dressed up and had a ton of fun. Josh M. Austin, and a couple other guys who painted "Go USA!" on themselves appeared on the jumbotron. Everybody was hoarse afterwards, but the US win made the night very worth it. The game was broadcast around the world, so many of the people at the game also appeared internationally, and that also was exciting.
So, arevederci -
Sorry for the liberal use of the word "Tomorrow." Since tomorrow never comes, there may have never been a post. Sorry 'bout that.
Two weeks ago (three days before the previous post), on Friday, there was Fall Party. The theme was Movies and TV shows. Of course, all the guys outdid themselves. The seniors dressed up as Sesame Street and also learned the Haka and performed it on stage. Brian took part in "High School Musical." Jonny, Megan, and some others took part in "Malibu's Most Wanted." It was a good party. Luke and Johny A were Indy Jones, Daniel T was Johny Cash. The rest of the guys also had some very good costumes. They quite enjoyed themselves and the rootbeer floats that followed.
Last week was SEW (Spiritual Emphasis Week). A speaker and band came in from the states to speak to the students for a week. His message was quite excellent, and the music was envigorating. They came up and visited, combined Blauen-Sonne one night, and they learned about Bullseye Ball, a game we have, and they got addicted. We showed them the dorm heirlooms, and did a dogpile for them. We also creeked two of them in the official Sonne way. It was a grand time. They loved it, too.
This weekend is girls volleyball and tennis homegames, with guys volleyball traveling to compete against the International School of Basel. Seniors leave in a week for Rome trip, and Juniors leave shortly after for Paris and Normandy. On October 17th, the school is going to watch a soccer game between the USA and Switzerland. The upcoming schedule is quite packed but appears to be quite easy going and fun.
Enjoy the pics!
So, the pictures are of creeking the SEW guys, creeking Lucas, fall party, and some other random stuff.

Greetings once again.
Here's how it goes. Last week friday, Blauen and Sonne went together to the Lorrach park for the annual brother-sister dorm get together. Food was provided by the school, but most of the time was spent talking and playing games. Bachi ball and Ultimate Frisbee were the major games, but some soccer and roller blading also took place. Everybody had a ton of fun.
Saturday, everybody pitched in and waxed the vans. They were quite shiny in the end. A small crew also dug out the creeking spot, pulling out the big rocks and damming up the creek in order to make it deeper and safer for creeking.
Sunday, there was church, as normal. Afterwards was the church picnic and Budenfest. The guys had time to eat and wander around and enjoy themselves in town. It was quite enjoyable.
Fall party was yesterday, and a update tomorrow will tell more about that.

Hey Ya’ll. Guess what? Another year has begun.
Eleven new guys arrived last Monday, and a new female RA is present. Her name
is Kristy. They all came and got into their rooms, met their roommates and the
staff. They got some briefings on rules and how everything else runs at Sonne.
By the next day, everybody had arrived. As there aren’t enough seniors to fill
the senior floor, there are some juniors up there. The halls were filled with
luggage and boxes as everybody unpacked and set up their rooms. The next morning was the first day of school. The
seniors had to go in early, while everybody else went down on the bus.
Everybody arrived and mingled with fellow students, staff, and parents.
Eventually, everybody reached their seats in the auditorium, and the seniors
shuffled in, proudly displaying flags of countries represented at BFA. The
seniors were then given their charge for the year, and the teaching and
residence staff also received a charge. Student body president, Austin
Huckfeldt (5th Sonne President in a row) gave a speech on the
required unity for the upcoming year. Mr. Shuman, director, gave a speech on
how everything should be done with God in mind, using a man with a really long
name as a lesson from history. When he finished, everybody was dismissed for
final goodbyes. Afterwards, the students were then sent around various
locations to receive information, textbooks, and sign up for extracurricular
activities. It was an easy day for all.School this week has been easy for many of them.
There has not been much homework issued, and so people have been able to play
soccer and hang out more after dinner. Food this year is made by a French
company, so it is excellent in quality, though slightly lacking in quantity. By
now, everybody has cleaned and set up their rooms, as room checks start
tomorrow.Friday afternoon was the opening party. It was
titled “Chillin’an’Grillin.” Everybody chilled, conversed, and had fun while
enjoying steak and bbqed chicken. After dinner, all the students went up to the
gym, where games were ready. They played the classic game of trying to pop
another person’s ankle balloon while not having your own popped. That was
followed by a game of “pass the hoolla hoop around a linked arm human ring.”
That was quite funny to observe, as some groups were made of some very tall people. A final game was
played, in which all the guys in each class got on the floor, a girl got on a
gym mat, and the guys had to push the mat from one end of the line to the
other, without the girl falling off the top. Everybody was laughing in the end.
An RA fashion show, in which Sonne RA s were dressed up mighty sportily,
followed up in the auditorium. A game of speed “not dating” how ya doing was
played, where everybody cycled around and asked each other interesting
questions and got to know new people. Coke floats topped off the evening, and
all the Sonne guys returned to watch Malibus Most Wanted.Saturday was the trip to Carrefour to shop for
school supplies and whatever else anybody needed. By the time everybody
arrived, there was a convoy of over 15 BFA vans on the same road. Everybody
wandered around Carrefour, finding what they needed and talking to their
friends. After everybody returned, a fire and a soccer game were started, and
both Blauen and Sonne gathered around and had fun talking and hanging out.
Sunday was enjoyable, partially due to the new looser clothes guidelines for
church. The afternoon was declared excellent for floor soccer and a water
balloon fight. Second floor won in a goal in sudden death against the third
floor. The water balloon fight was quite enjoyable for cooling off. And now is
night time, and Monday is tomorrow, and the first full week of school. See ya
soon!

Hello all
The clock is ticking. How sad. Monday we had a day off, due to Pentecost. Thus, we all headed down to the Web at 2 and began Senior Tributes. It was quite moving, with Jeff having prepared a special photo slideshow for each senior, followed by their willing and giving out of items and knowledge. The whole thing was wrapped up with a general tribute to all the seniors. Afterwards, there were ribs and other delights prepared special for the event. Later that night, the seniors went to Basel and watched Pirates of the Caribean: At World's End.Going on. Blauen was TPed on Sunday night. And on the Tuesday-Wednesday night, at 2 AM, everybody in both dorms got up, crossed the street, and slept the rest of the night in the other dorm's living room. It was an approved prank on the staff, and they were suprised. Everybody is tired, but it was enjoyable. Also, today is Senior Skip Day, so it shall hopefully not be too tiring for the already tired seniors. It is so odd to see so much of the dorm already packed up, but there is an aggressive schedule this year. Well, see you all later. Hopefully there will be a final picture post or two of the years events.

Took Long enough, Didn't it?
Okay. So here it is. A picture post. Not all, but some. More to come as time and bandwidth flow. They are from JSB and paintballing. Don't have any yet of sports. Oh, and there is one or two from a game that BFA played in Basel.

Tomorrow is the big Track meet and Soccer game at Lorrach. Soccer is playing Vilsec. On Tuesday, we all woke up early and traveled north for three hours. Once there, we paintballed, ate good American food, drank drinks, and got covered in paint and dirt. There was the usual shirtless game, and the various classes played each other. Maugenhard didn't come this year, so we played alone. Pictures to come as soon as bandwidth frees up. Thanks once again to Austin's dad for setting everything up and supplying us with a enjoyable time.
Today, there was Student Body Elections. A guy from Maugenhard, and Ben and Austin both ran. Austin, though not blonde, is now the fifth consecutive Sonne president. YEA!
Anyways. More coming to you later. Remember to keep the Dredges in your prayers.

Hello All,
Well, last Saturday was a track meet and a soccer game. The track meet was at Heidleberg and the soccer game was at Vilsec. The guys soccer teams won, as well did the JV girls, while the Varsity girls tied. Sang Jin made a beautiful assist in the Varsity game. The track meet ended with the guys 4th and the girls 5th out of a total of five teams. Michael O jumped the farthest, at around 17 feet ten inches. Sean and John also ran exceptionally well in their events. Ben B PRed in shotput and discus. Josh R also did quite decently. Pictures are on the BFA webpage. The weather is wonderfully warm here. This weekend track is at Manheim and soccer has a home game. May Day is coming up, and its a holiday, and we are yet again going to have fun on the dorm retreat. This Friday is W.W.W.B in Basel, where various people dress up as Waldo and teams go and find as many as possible. It looks like it is going to be a fun event. Please keep praying for Matt and Sarah.
