  • They're back!!

Well, the guys are back from spring break.  Many went on missions trips for the first week with BFA.  Bulgaria, Duisburg, Burkina Faso are some of the places that were visited.  They all seem to have enjoyed their time.  They seem glad to be back, but not glad to start up school.  They also don't enjoy leaving their families.

Everyone came back to Sonne on a somber note as our dear Anna Pearl passed away last Friday.  This has been hard for Matt and Sarah and they need all of your prayers as they struggle through this tremendously hard time.  You can read more on their xanga site.  Most of all, they just really need your prayers.

    God bless

  • Please pray for Anna Pearl. She has been reported to have had respiratory trouble, and is at the hospital in Freiburg. Also, pray for Matt and Sarah.

  • Wow. It has been snowing everyday since. It is about a foot and a half deep. Crazy. Good powdery stuff, beautiful for snowboarding. We wanted another snow day, but we didn't get it. Hopefully it will snow a lot tommorow also. The soccer and track guys are going to have to go down and spend the night at HBR, to make sure that they can go to their meets and games. They are still diggin the vans out now. Yep. People are having a lot of fun out back on the hill, jump and all. Ahh, well, talk to you later.

  • So the snow day was wonderful. Many of the guys spent all day out back on the slope, snowboardings, skiing, and sledding. It was good snow. Dry, powdery stuff, good runs, there were a couple of jumps created and enjoyed. Big Kurt brought out a sled he had bought, called the "Fun Rocket," and man, was it fun. It was the fastest thing out on the slopes. And when it hit the jumps, it got air. Yep. It was a good day. Big Kurt even drove a bunch of snow boarders, and Kristoff, up to the hill where there is that little cabin that they shoot fire discs off of, and they came down and he drove them up again. It was quite nice of him.

And it is still snowing. Another few inches yesterday, was snowing all night, so hopefully some more inches today. Down in Kandern, they got nothing. That invisible line between Marlsburg and Marzell is in action, because the weather really does change when you cross it. Soccer has a home game coming up this weekend, so hopefully it will warm up in Kandern and not snow or rain. Track is going to Heidelberg. Hopefully, both teams are prepared.

Hopefully, a plethora of pictures will soon be uploaded and appended to a post about the open house. Things just go slowly around here. Anyways

    Goodbye!

  • Snow Day!

The Administration has finally yielded to our requests, and as the title suggests, today we get to stay at the dorm due to the quickly-accumulating snow. Some guys will go out and play, whereas others might stay inside and catch up on sleep. This comes as a nice break, as for the past two weeks the schoolwork has been rather... taxing. Today promises to be a good time, enjoyed thoroughly by all.

  • For the first time in a long time. . .

    Sonne/Blauen Open House!
    Saturday, 7:30 to 10pm

The theme? Much debated. But finally settled on. 50's diner. Oh yeah.
The video for it rocked. The smell of lemon pervades right now, as we
make lemonade and many other things.

On another note. There is not many guys around these days. All the guys
who tried out for soccer made it.Several, like the Olson's and Shin and
Sang Jin and Bruce made varsity. Daweed made swing. More to come on
that as they play and get ready. And, as normal, all the guys who tried
    out for track made it.

Retreat was last weekend. The theme was Coronation. It was up in
Nurnburg. From what the guys say, they had a great time, and it was a
very good experience. They enjoyed the 6 hours of free time they had to
wander around the city and enjoy museums and food and friendship. And
the speaker and band were excellent.

John Mark, in recent days, has accepted to John Brown, and he now has a
significant other. For reals. So, yep, news in brief. More pics and
stuff to come after the open house. Still no snow. Oh well.

  • Hey People
So, its been a while, ain't it? So sorry about that. Its just been rather hectic. What has been going on, you ask? Basketball, among other things. Two weeks ago, there was the final home game. Man, was that exciting. Varsity guys, on the Friday night game, scored in the last seconds and got ahead by a point. Last week was basketball tournament. The guys left on Tuesday. Both teams, unfortunatly, were beaten out, but they put up a hard fight. They stayed on base for the closing, and returned late Saturday night. Candle Light dinner was also last weekend. Many people were involved in that. It was quite succesful. This years theme was "Finding Everland." Many people sang songs, and, of course, the auditorium was decorated. So, as per normal after a Candle Light dinner, church on the following sunday was at 4pm, because of clean up in the morning. Very few of the guys woke up, ate breakfast, and just plain wandered around. Then there was this freak thunderstorm that didn't have rain but instead this very wet snow. But that didn't stick, and the storm blew over quite quickly. Its raining right now. Sponge Bob, the van, is in the shop. The workroom has been stripped down, and is now mostly empty. It is being prepared to be turned into a work out room. That is one of Kurt's projects. All the guys will be away this weekend, as it is high school retreat. They are going to Nurnburg. The monday after they get back, there is soccer tryouts, and the day after that, which happens to be a tuesday, there are track tryouts. Hopefully it won't snow a meter again, like it did last year. Though snow would be nice. Other things are in formulation, but you can't find out about them yet. So, talk to you later with lots more.

  • Hello people. Well, we are all hoping for some more snow. The snow on wednesday was decent, but everybody was out tearing it up, so there ain't much left. Had two birthdays today, but were celebrated yesterday. Morgan and Ben. They got tubbed. They fought mightily. Also, Jeff's bday was several days ago. But he didn't get tubbed, because he had coated himself in peanut butter. Tonight was a Res-Life movie night. 6 movies, and it seems the guys enjoyed them. We have recieved a new guy, as Joel Olbert departed from us last week. The new Sonne Knight is named Bruce. He lives in France, and is from Michigan. More info to come.

Anna Pearl is doing well, the reports report. Again, more info as it comes.

Tell us, what would you appreciate on this site? More pictures? More entries? More of both? We'll try and do as you ask.

Anyways, thanks people, and let it snow!!!

EDIT:  The thing about Jeff's birthday is a blatant disregard for the truth.  The fact is that the guys completely and utterly wimped out and refused to tub him.  This is the first time that I have heard of that some Sonne boys have not wanted to get someone wet.  It was a true shame.  Especially since Jeff had prepared himself wonderfully with chunky peanut butter.  They didn't know about the peanut butter until they had cheesed out and decided not to tub him.
